The American University of Science (AUS) được thành lập vào tháng 9 năm 2021 tại Honolulu, Hawaii, như một cơ sở giáo dục đại học, với sứ mệnh thúc đẩy nghiên cứu khoa học, đổi mới công nghệ và khôn ngoan đạo lý trong sự hòa hợp với chân lý phổ quát. Khởi nguồn từ xác tín rằng giáo dục chân chính bắt đầu bằng sự khiêm nhường thừa nhận giới hạn con người, AUS chọn khẩu hiệu “Nescire est initium sapientiae” (“Không biết là khởi đầu của sự khôn ngoan”) làm nền tảng triết học và định hướng tinh thần cho toàn bộ sứ mệnh giáo dục.

Vào tháng 1 năm 2022, The American University of Science (AUS) thành lập cơ sở quốc tế đầu tiên—St. Thomas Aquinas Campus (STAC)—tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, một trung tâm đô thị năng động bậc nhất Đông Nam Á, như một phần trong chiến lược toàn cầu hóa của nhà trường. Cơ sở này là hiện thân sống động cho cam kết lâu dài của AUS đối với hội nhập học thuật, đối thoại liên văn hóa và phát triển khu vực có định hướng nhân bản. STAC không chỉ kế thừa và duy trì triết lý nền tảng của AUS, mà còn phát triển thông qua sự thích ứng văn hóa và sự tôn trọng sâu sắc đối với các giá trị truyền thống bản địa.

The American University of Science (AUS) was founded in September 2021 in Honolulu, Hawaii, as a postsecondary institution committed to advancing scientific inquiry, technological innovation, and moral wisdom in harmony with universal truth. Rooted in the conviction that authentic education begins with the humble acknowledgment of human limitation, AUS adopted the motto “Nescire est initium sapientiae” (“To not know is the beginning of wisdom”) as both its philosophical foundation and spiritual compass.

From the outset, AUS affirmed that scientific knowledge—when guided by ethical discernment—is indispensable to the sustainable flourishing of individuals and societies in a rapidly globalizing world. The scientific method is understood not merely as a technical tool, but as a sacred path to critical thinking, disciplined pursuit of truth, and principled action oriented toward the common good.
